High Performing Teams

Develop the levers for high performance

When we talk about performance you might think of results, quality, speed, yield, growth, all key, measurable factors indeed. And yet, the human factor is the back bone to performance. Conflicts, work climate, unclear roles, lack of accountability, stress and lack of trust can significantly reduce your team's ability to perform.

Quantum aims to support your team and act on three dimensions: alignment on a common vision, goals, purpose and ways of working, the connection between people and their capacity to engage and collaborate, and their mindset - preferences of thinking, patterns of bias, limiting beliefs, strengths and values, etc.

Here are some of the expected outcomes

  • Alignment

Each member of the team is engaged in delivering towards a common purpose and vision. The team understands and are intrinsically motivated toward common goals.

The team co-creates and/or aligns around clear ways of working and makes commitments to uphold and maintain a structured team charter.

  • Connection

Teammates communicate clearly, collaborate, build and maintain trust and psychological safety, forge strong relationships to, ultimately, get better results.

Conflicts are managed in a caring and timely way to ensure that everyone is supported and agreements, roles and responsibilities are clear.

Team-mates celebrate together and engage in a caring and honest way.

  • Mindset

Each member of the team is aware of their strengths, their mindset patterns, biases, attitudes, limiting beliefs and narratives that reduce or enhance their ability to perform.

Team members cultivate a growth mindset, are aware of the diversity of profiles and strengths in the team, working with team's diversity towards better ways of working and decision making.

What is Quantum's Approach to HPT?

HPT is a highly customised, cyclical experiential journey that works directly on the team dynamic and individual barriers and enablers for immediate and long-lasting transformational results. HPT is a skilfully facilitated journey, focused, adaptable and in flow with the team's evolution and dynamics.

One HPT cycle spreads over 6mo to 1 year and can be repeated yearly for best results. Once a full-cycle is finished, the subsequent phases can be designed as shorter, online refresher sessions to deepen the learning.

HPT Phase 1

Scoping, Assessments, Design

  1. Preliminary scoping and 1:1 interviews to identify challenges, enablers and needs

  2. Individual assessments (to be selected in collaboration with the HR partners and business manager) - e.g. CliftonStrengths, The Leadership Circle, Insights Discovery, DISC, Cultural Orientations Indicator.

  3. Team diagnostic (customised to fit the organisational metrics) and/or the Collective Leadership Assessment, The Five Dysfunctions team diagnostic, Cultural Orientations Indicator

  4. Share findings with team lead and finalise the goals and objectives for team development

  5. Design the sessions

HPT Phase 2

Experiential Learning

A series of experiential sessions can be organised, based on the needs, objectives and budget of the team. Here are two types of sessions that typically occur:

  1. In-person all-day retreats of 1 to 3 days, ideally outside of the office, in a location that offers a good mix of nature, good indoor space to move around, gastronomy and evening activities.

  2. A series of 2 to 6 (or more) half-day online sessions spread over several months to ensure continuity. The online sessions can replace the in-person retreats, if the team is geographically spread and the budget does not allow for travel, or can be considered as follow-up refresher sessions.

HPT Phase 3

Follow-up & Evaluation

  1. After each session, a follow-up call is organised with the line manager to share observations, re-align focus, objectives and key messages and establish next steps.

  2. An evaluation form is also provided to participants at the end of the learning session to gather feedback and ideas for the next cycle.

  3. The team diagnostic is re-run at the end of the cycle to measure the shifts and provide input for the next cycle. Some clients prefer the team diagnostic at the beginning of the new cycle.
